Daddy-Q

Tom hosted a Daddy-Q for our "Daddy-To-Be/Son-In-Law" AJ last Saturday. We thought... why should Kristen be the only one who gets a party to celebrate??? Everyone invited was asked to bring a pack of diapers. At the end of the night AJ said they received over 500! It was a huge success and I think everyone had a great time!

Mom's Visit

We had a great time while my mom was here for Garrett's graduation. It was nice spending some much needed one-on-one time with her. We had a lot of laughs. The picture below is of one of those moments. We were running down the street in the rain (me, my mom, and Kristen) after lunch on our way to the Owyhee Candy Company. My mom wanted to get Idaho candy to take back home with her. So...She starts running ahead of us with her sweater up over her head and Kristen tells her - what are you doing? You have a hood on that sweater! My mom's reply was...."I know, but I don't want it to squash my hair!" What a dork! We all laughed.

Garrett's Graduation

Garrett's graduation was very nice! It was held at Taco Bell Arena - on the Boise State University Campus. The arena is an indoor venue where concerts are held.

I was amazed at how fast I was able to find where Garrett was sitting, given the fact that there were about 400 students all dressed alike!

Baby Kaden Update

I went with Kristen to her doctor appointment this morning. She is ready! Our little guy will be here any day now!

Garrett Update

Well my little man's last day of school was Friday. Although I am dancing inside at the thought of not having kids in school - it is also kind of sad. My mom is flying up this weekend for his graduation on Monday and I am really looking forward to her visit.

We also have Garrett registered for college! Woo Hoo!

He wants to move out with some friends when he goes to college - which made me think hum.... should I be getting in on that action? So I started looking for houses to buy for him and his friends to rent. There are some great deals out there with the current market situation. I made Garrett and his girlfriend go with me to look at a few houses over the weekend. We had an interesting adventure to say the least. We knew we were going to see some nasty houses, but my goodness! We walked out of one of them and our realtor said, "I think I now have cancer". The smell of cigarette smoke was sooo bad! It also had a swimming pool in the backyard that had moldy water in it, an old Duster (car) with flat tires in the backyard, and oh...I can't forget to mention the dead crow in the backyard! The cabinet doors had been removed (weird) and you could actually sit on the toilet in the master bedroom and check on your popcorn in the kitchen (kitchen & master bath were connected by a door, which if open... well you get my point) Anyway after we sifted through the bad, and had some good laughs, we found the jewel. Our realtor is writing up the offer as I type this - and will submit it tomorrow. We are praying this will be a good opportunity for everyone involved, including the current owner who needs out from under this house. I will keep you posted!

Garrett is now in McCall for a few days. His friend's parents have a cabin there. Garrett will also be leaving at the end of June to go to Disney World in Florida for a week.

Mark - Rolled His New Toy

Brenda said that after Mark rolled - no one wanted to ride with him! But - he wanted to test it out and see what the limits were before anyone went with him. I guess he found out!

Kristen's Baby Shower

We had a such a great time at Kristen's Baby Shower! Kristen received so many nice gifts!

It is wonderful to know there are so many relatives and friends who care so much and are excited for Kaden to arrive!

Kaden Update!

Well - we are on the final countdown to baby Kaden's arrival. Kristen will be 36 weeks on Tuesday. I don't think she will make it to 40 weeks. Here are some guesses so far in order by date:
Tom: May 15th

Janalee: May 16th (her B-day)
Brenda: May 19th

Shanna: May 21st

Mom (Marlene): June 1st
Julie: June 6th at 6:06 am
Any other guesses?

Kristen yesterday

We had a little bit of a scare last Thursday. Kristen was having really bad back pain and some other symptoms I won't go into details - she called the doctor on call and he had her go check in to Labor and Delivery at the hospital. They kept her for an hour - ran a few tests and sent her home. Everything has been ok since. It was a good dry run for us though. Now we know where to go for the real thing!

The couldn't get a good reading on Kaden because he was asleep. They tried waking him up - but couldn't. So the nurse said "I apologize in advance", placed this buzzer on Kristen's stomach to wake him. Kristen let out a ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh and said "I think he just kicked me in the throat!" Poor little guy! (And poor Kristen).

I still have a lot of the baby stuff at my house, while we work on Kaden's nursery. We washed a few outfits, blankies and socks! I was excited when I looked in the dryer!
