Garrett - Disney World

Garrett left Sunday morning bright and early for Disney World Florida for a week! He arrived at 1:20 pm - called me before he was off the plane to let me know he had made it. I sent him a text later and asked for some pictures. This is what I got. I really wanted pictures of HIM! So I have my request in for more... we will see what he sends.

He is changing every day. And smiling... Actual smiling. Not just facial expressions. I talk to him and make goofy faces and he smiles at me. He is so alert!

Backyard

Tom ordered rock for the flowerbeds in the backyard. Seeing a huge pile of rock in your driveway knowing how much work there was to be done just makes you sigh. But - it is almost complete! Tom and Garrett did most of the work, but I did help :-) . I think they gave new meaning to the phrase "Rock & Roll". I will have to take some pictures and show their fine work!

Kristen's friends were at their house tonight with their daughter Rayden. She was born April 17th and Kaden weighs 2 lbs. more than she does! Don't they both look thrilled to be having their picture taken?

Kristen's best friend April is here visiting from California. She is such a great friend and a big help! I wanted to get a couple of pictures of her holding Kaden. We laughed so hard at this one, I almost feel bad posting it (almost). The expression on his face is priceless!

Kristen and AJ had some shopping to do so they brought Kaden over last night. Here are a few pictures.

He looks like Kristen most of the time - but in this picture I can really see AJ.
I love when he stretches! He always leans his head back, arches his back, puts his hand up by his head and lifts his eyebrows.

Kaden had his first doctor appointment this morning. He is doing great, and has gained 3 ounces.

Introducing Kaden Aaron Atkinson

We were blessed with a miracle on Tuesday. His name is Kaden.

He was born June 9th weighed 8 pounds 11 ounces and is 20-3/4 inches long.

Kaden is so lucky to have Kristen and AJ as parents. They are doing such a great job with him.

AJ has stayed at the hospital the whole time.

Kristen says she can't stand to be away from Kaden even when the nursery comes to take him for check ups.

I wanted Kristen to be the first to post pictures of him, but she has given me permission to post these.

This has really been an emotional event for me. I cried when Kristen got the epidural, I felt so bad for her and it was hard to see MY baby in pain. Then I cried 4 times before Kaden was born. Every step closer to him arriving was just amazing. Kristen was such a lady while in labor. I don't know how else to describe it. She really impressed me. She was focused and did an awesome job. AJ was calm and never left her side.

Kristen is just 3 days from her due date! AJ wanted me to take pictures of them before Kaden arrives, so we went to the park this afternoon and took some great pictures! Click the images to enlarge.

Daddy-Q

Tom hosted a Daddy-Q for our "Daddy-To-Be/Son-In-Law" AJ last Saturday. We thought... why should Kristen be the only one who gets a party to celebrate??? Everyone invited was asked to bring a pack of diapers. At the end of the night AJ said they received over 500! It was a huge success and I think everyone had a great time!
