Last of the Hawaii Pictures

Here are a few more pictures from the last couple of days in Hawaii. We had a great time but the best part of a vacation is coming HOME! !

Bye Bye Hawaii! Tom's cute feet!

It was kind of overcast on the last day. But it made for a beautiful picture. Who's hair do you think took longer to fix? His or hers? Tom on the beach our last day.
Me - by the pool.
We went to McDonald's for a snack. This "meal" Tom ordered was $8.69. Can you believe almost $9 for chicken nuggets? Oh... but they do throw in the pineapple!
Lovely fashion statement. Please ladies.... DO NOT EVER wear nylon booties with sandals! (If you have not figured it out yet - I am a foot person. I love pictures of feet. It is also one of the things I have in common with my cousin Karie. Wonder if it is genetic?)
Lanterns in trees.... so pretty!
Wish I could have this in my backyard!
Tom - holding a piece of yummy cheesecake!
Look! It is like Halloween for grown ups! Ok... this is one of my weird things. I like to take all of the items they place in the room every day and see how much I end up with at the end of a trip. This must also be genetic.... I somehow think Grandma Hellewell would be proud! But - I guess the bright side is you are a house guest of mine, you will feel like you are at a hotel???
Another beach shot.
Another cool shot...
Panoramic picture I took from the beach of the tower our room was in. (Random couple)
The first day we were there - we were walking around and a pigeon pooped in my hair. Yeah... nice. I told Tom I thought it meant good luck, and then I said wait, I think that is what people who get pigeon $h!t in their hair say..... So it was no surprise to me that when I opened my lap top on the beach that I got a fly by bomb! Tom said that is what I get for opening my lap top at the beach!
I still do not understand the 70's deco at the Honolulu Airport. I think they should drop this sucker to the ground and let kids play on it while they are waiting for their planes!
Anyway - we had fun.... had a few laughs - for example: Tom took the blow dryer out of the closet, plugged it in and started blow drying his hair. He was in a funny position with his head bent way down. He said, wow this cord is short! I am not sure how you are going to blow dry your hair. Well... when it was my turn to use it, I plugged it in, took a look at it and said wait a minute! I told Tom to look.... as I pulled the rest of the RETRACTABLE cord from the dryer. HA HA HA!
Another good one was when we were having breakfast. It was a buffet and I was getting up to get some Miso Soup. Tom asked if I saw Yogurt. I said yes.... it was over by the fruit.... I will get you some. So I bring back this "yogurt" with granola I had sprinkled on it. Tom takes a bite and says, this doesn't taste right... so I take a bite. At that moment he says, I think it is sour cream! He didn't get the words out before it was in my mouth! YUCK!

Hawaii Day 4

We went on a Dinner Cruise last night. It was a lot of fun! On the boat pulling away from the dock.
Panoramic view of Waikiki from the boat
I was taking a picture of this sail boat and when I was reviewing the picture, I realized I caught one of the many whales we saw as its tail was entering the water.
There were also a lot of dolphins. One of the crew said they wait for the boat to come out every night. They like to play in the currents and waves the boat makes. There were several dolphins jumping and playing! It was AMAZING!
Light house.

Our Hotel .
Tom has even better pics on his camera.

Hawaii Day 3

We went to the Aquarium Yesterday! Lots of different varieties of Jelly Fish
I have always loved Seahorses!
Lots of colorful fish. You will have to see the one Tom took of the fish with lips.
Huge clams!
View of Diamond Head from the sports park across the street from the Aquarium.
Band Shell.
Happy Hour at our Hotel! Mai Tai's!

Beautiful Sunset!
We walked down on the beach to listen to the local entertainment... and of course had to take pics of our feet!
Our hotel through the trees.
We went downtown so I could have one of the street artists paint Kaden's name.
This is an amazing picture of the beach Tom took just after sunset.
Sunset pictures.
We ordered sushi to go - and headed back to our room for the evening. With the time change 10:00 feels really late!!!!

Hawaii Day 2

We have done so much walking - the bottoms of our feet actually hurt! After breakfast yesterday morning we headed out to the International Marketplace. I made sure to tell Tom NOT to pay full price for anything. The women working at the booths here are funny! The famous phrase is "how much you pay...., friend" AHAHA. Then they make you feel like you are getting such a deal, but the items are marked up so much that by the time you negotiate - you are paying what you should be paying in the first place. But it is a fun "game" and very entertaining.Tom enjoyed a Mai Tai by the pool after our shopping adventure.
A couple of trees in front of the hotel
Waterfall inside the hotel lobby.
Lots of beautiful flowers here....
There are several of these canopy type trees here. The odd thing is that the roots grow from the branches up high and drop down into the ground. Here is Tom standing in between a couple of the roots.
We walked to the Honolulu Zoo. We were pleasantly surprised by all of the animals, plants, and flowers.
These little guys were cute!
Zebras!
View of Diamond Head from the Zoo.
This monkey was soooo funny! He was laying on his back looking at us just chillin.
More amazing flowers!
Flamingos!
We went to Senior Frogs last night for dinner.
Palm trees lit up in the lobby of the hotel. The hotel is open to the outside. Today we have been kinda lazy. Had a nice breakfast, took a nap and now we are off to get a snack (I really want sushi) and then we are off to the aquarium.
